Dear Tuffree Middle School Families!
I am so excited to meet each one of you and begin our 2016-17 school year! I am honored to introduce myself as the new Principal at Tuffree Middle School. I have lived in Yorba Linda for 18 years where my husband and I have raised our four boys. Prior to coming to Tuffree, I was the Principal at Travis Ranch School in Yorba Linda for 4 years. Before that, I was the Assistant Principal and then Principal at Mira Loma Middle School in Jurupa USD in Riverside for 11 years. A fun fact is that I attended Wagner Elementary in Kindergarten and 1st grade. If I had not moved away, I would have attended Tuffree MS as a student. I feel like I've come home! I look forward to meeting each of you and your children. I am so fortunate to be a part of the Tuffree Community.
We are preparing for your student's arrival for the first day of school on Monday, August 29th. Students can pick up their actual class schedule that morning beginning at 8:10 am. All students should enter the campus through the front gate. Classes begin promptly at 8:50 am. Drop off and pick up will be challenging the first week, so please be patient, smile, and pull all the way forward. I would strongly suggest that students consider bringing their lunch the first week since the lunch lines may be long as students get into a routine.
You may be wondering what the year will be like with a change in leadership at Tuffree. Let me reassure you that I will do a lot of listening, learning, and growing as I get to know the needs of our school. This administrative team, teachers, and support staff are here for only one purpose…to support your child's success!
Additionally, I will be sending out a weekly newsletter called, "The Falcon Flyer" to keep parents informed about what is happening at Tuffree. This will come weekly on Saturday mornings in your email.
Looking ahead, Back to School Night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th. More information will follow. I look forward to seeing all of you very soon!
